Community foundations embody a simple concept: people working together can make a difference.

The Banff Community Foundation serves a variety of donors with a variety of interests at all levels of charitable giving. We act as a link between donors and charitable agencies that can most effectively and efficiently carry out the objectives and desires they have for their funds. Our foundation provides maximum flexibility in terms of assets that can be used to create a fund, options for the use of the donor’s gifts and benefits to the donor, such as involvement in the granting process and a lasting legacy in their name.

The Banff Community Foundation works cooperatively with other foundations and can provide "flow through" opportunities to a donor’s designated charity. By structuring a donation in this way, a donor helps build the community "nest egg", while maintaining a focus with their charity of choice.

The Banff Community Foundation is governed by an impartial Board of Directors made up of a balanced group of community-wide representatives who are committed to delivering on the donor’s wishes.
