Fund Options

The Banff Community Foundation encourages the unique culture of our National Park communities through our support of registered charities in the areas of recreation, arts, education, health, social services, heritage and environment.

As a charity that gives to other charities, we work with Donors to create a future that is vibrant and confident. Donors can choose to contribute to the Community Endowment Fund, a pooled fund that will distribute only the investment income, or a flow-through fund that can be used for immediate granting purposes.

For charities seeking financial sustainability

More than ever before, charities are seeking ways to plan for the future. And charities may be donors too! Establishing an endowment fund for your agency can ensure a steady stream of annual funding for your organization. Your principal is never spent and The Banff Community Foundation engages the services of experienced professional investment managers to help your funds grow.

We provide administrative services, reporting, online giving options and can help you arrange planned gifts with donors. We will work with you to help build your agency’s fund, supporting you as you reach out to donors.

You will be in good company with these agencies who have already established agency funds at The Banff Community Foundation:

•    The Banff Centre - a designated fund
•    Brewster Memorial Trust Fund - proceeds are used for community grants
•    Canadian Rockies Public Schools - a designated fund
•    Abbeyfield Society of Banff - field of interest fund known as Banff Elder Fund
•    Banff Sports Hall of Fame - an emerging field of interest fund
