Do you believe in community philanthropy and ‘giving back’? Are you passionate about Banff National Park? Are you interested in encouraging others to contribute to Banff's future? Would you like to make a difference? Would you like to join The Banff Community Foundation Board of Directors? Vision: To live a model of philanthropy that is transparent and accountable to its donors, to the community and that inspires future generations. Desirable Skills: We are looking for committed volunteers who are experienced in:
- Fund-raising
- Granting
- Donor Recognition
- Events Planning
- Investments
- Leadership
- Governance
What does the Foundation do in practical terms? - Builds and manages permanently endowed community funds - Administers an annual community grants program - Encourages philanthropic activity in Banff National Park
If you would like to apply to serve on the Board of this vital philanthropic organization, please submit a 2 - 3 page letter that describes: - your areas of interest and expertise - your experience in the communities of Banff National Park - your reasons for wanting to serve The Banff Community Foundation
Number of Vacancies: 2 Term: Three years. Second three year term optional. Maximum 6 years. Time Commitment: 7 - 10 hours per month How are Board members selected? The Mayor of the Town of Banff convenes a Committee of Nominators, a non-partisan group of community leaders. The Committee reviews applications and makes final decisions, on behalf of the Foundation and the communities of Banff National Park.
