Albertans now receive a 50-cent tax credit for every dollar donated, over the $200 threshold
Example:
Donor who has taxable income of over $60,000, makes a $1,000 donation to charity
Donor will receive a $500 tax saving (combined federal and provincial tax credits)
This means, Albertans who donate $1,000 to their charity of choice will pay a net price = $500
Alberta is the most supportive province in all of Canada when it comes to charitable giving. Ask your financial advisor about planning your gifts to maximize tax benefits.
